At the end of June, Honor officially returned to the market . However, not as a brand belonging to Huawei, but a separate company, taken over by a Chinese consortium . We already had Honora Magic Vs in my hands , but it was a short adventure. Today, however, I invite you to review the Honor Magic 5 Pro , which I had the opportunity to use for the last few weeks, waiting for it to finally go on sale in many countries.
The aforementioned set, Magic Vs, is equipment from the end of 2022. Magic 5 Pro, on the other hand, is a much fresher model, presented at the end of February this year. That also, I think, makes you a lot more interested in it. What’s more, even before the Polish premiere, you asked a lot about this model.
So it’s time to focus all your attention on it.

Design, quality
I am incredibly happy that the green variant of the device fell into my hands, because once it looks much more interesting than black, and two – it is matte (who tried to take pictures of shiny phones, especially black as pitch, will understand my pain perfectly). I admit that visually I like Honor Magic 5 Pro.
This huge, round island with cameras has its own charm. Or maybe not the island itself, but the way it was placed on the housing, because it is not just a glued island, but nicely, smoothly flowing out of the housing, and this can definitely appeal to your taste.
But it also has the other side – the edges of the circle are protruding, which means that when you grab the phone in your hand, you almost always catch it. What’s more, I’m not surprised if you have a constantly dirty ultra-wide-angle camera lens for the first few days of use – this is where the index finger goes while holding the smartphone.
Magic 5 Pro is made at the top level. There is nothing here to attach to. The aluminum edges go well with this greenery, and the whole structure is compact and does not give up even stronger bending tests. And speaking of the design, it is worth noting that the smartphone meets the IP68 resistance standard.
Is it possible to use Honora Magic 5 Pro with one hand? It’s possible, but you have to maneuver it properly, because reaching the top row of icons is not an easy task. After all, it is not a small smartphone – 162.9 x 76.7 x 8.77 mm. For comparison, the Huawei P60 Pro is slightly lower, but above all also narrower (161 x 74.5 x 8.3 mm).
And that was the first thing I said about the Honor Magic 5 Pro when I took it out of the box – how wide it is! I have a feeling that it will not suit everyone, because getting used to this fact is not as easy as it might seem. Sure, after a few days it stops bothering you, but it’s hard to forget. Asshole? For some, probably yes, but there will be a lot of users who – like me – will pay attention to it. After all, it’s an important ergonomic issue.
In addition, what you can feel quite strongly is the weight of the phone, which is 219 grams. It is true that as long as there is no comparison with other models, it is difficult to notice, but it just so happened that I had the mentioned Chinese competitor at hand and – although the difference between them is only 19 grams – it was still noticeable.
